Poking Along

The pond has been quiet this week. But the scent of Honeysuckle (above) fills the air in places where this unassuming plant grows.

As the leaves fill in the spaces throughout the branches of the trees, the birds become nearly impossible to see. It’s maddening to hear them so nearby, but to not be able to locate them. But a nest, which is visible, and which I think belongs to a Baltimore Oriole, has taken shape nicely.

The Canada Geese goslings continue to grow – still all three of them! Their elongated necks are more apparent now. And they are mastering their feeding skills, pecking in the grass and in the water.

The Heron (if it is in fact the same each time) allowed me to get about twelve feet from it today. Here’s the up-close photo I was able to shoot. (Click on the picture for your up-close viewing.)

And, the buds continue to open – presenting little cosmoses of beauty.
